The Kemp PTA Board meets monthly to approve spending and provide oversight for Kemp PTA activities and offerings, while building partnerships and championing Kemp in the community. Each Vice President is responsible for the activities under their umbrella, which they can either lead personally or by recruiting a committee chair.

Kemp PTA Committee Chairs report to their respective Kemp VP and work together to accomplish the task/event. Committee Chairs are especially successful when they are able to utilize their personal or professional skill sets and experience to serve the Kemp community. Don’t want to go it alone? Committee Glossary
- After School Enrichment Clubs – Works closely with our after school enrichment programs to coordinate dates, registrations, rooms, etc. for each of the after school enrichment classes as well as coordinating with school administration. This committee will also research other enrichment activities to bring to Kemp.
- Back to School Ice Cream Social - Plan and coordinate a free back to school ice cream social event for Kemp families. (Usually held the day before school starts, when students find out their teacher assignment.)
- Book Fair – Host a Scholastic book sale. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, decorations, assisting customers, and pack up. (Held for four consecutive days in early February.)
- Bulletin Board – Responsible for decorating the PTA bulletin board in the lobby of the building. All PTA activities and events will be posted on this board.
- Donuts with Dudes - Plan and coordinate a doughnut breakfast for our students and an important "dude" in their life. Includes setting up decorations, music, a small doorprize raffle, and communication about the event. (Event held two mornings before school in in February.)
- Fifth Grade - Work with the school to coordinate fifth grade events including putting together the end of the year slide show and assisting with graduation.
- Fundraiser - Plan and execute our fall fundraiser. Kemp PTA aims to sell fundraising packages in the fall and use the rest of the year to serve our families. Responsible for creating packages, sourcing product, advertising and distribution.
- Holiday Shop - Plan and execute a holiday shop for our students to shop for their loved ones. This is similar to book fair, we work with a vendor to source the product and use their infrastructure. Will be responsible for planning shop, decorating, coordinating volunteers, etc. (Held the first full week of December.)
- Movie Night – Plan and coordinate an outdoor movie night for the Kemp community. Secure a vendor to show movie, create communication for school, coordinate volunteers, etc. (Event held on a Friday evening in late October.)
- Reflections – Promotes and coordinates the National PTA Reflections program, a celebration of children’s creativity. Based on a yearly theme, children write literature, create artwork, take photos and or compose music. These entries are then judged at various levels and honored with receptions. This committee will work to distribute rules and regulations of this program, collect entries, display works, coordinate judging, and host a reception at school. Also, responsible for sending the winners in each category on to district and then state competitions.
- Room Parent Coordinator – Ensure every classroom has a willing Room Parent. All room parents MUST be a PTA member. The coordinator will be the liaison for all room parents by communicating requirements of room parents as well as two meetings throughout the school year. Will also help coordinate Teacher Appreciation week activities.
- Social Media - Responsbile for Kemp PTA's social media content. Schedule posts with information about Kemp happenings and interact with our amazing community.
- Spirit Nights - Work with our existing Kemp business partners and recruit new partners to plan Kemp spirit nights. The goal of these nights are to foster community among Kemp families and as a bonus create a small stream of income for PTA.
- Spirit Wear – Provides students, staff and families the opportunity to purchase various imprinted products with the school logo. Assist in new artwork designs, purchasing, storage and distribution of Spirit Wear items. Additionally, members will be asked to work at various PTA events selling spirit wear.
- Spring Fling – Plan and coordinate an end of year, fun filled, outdoor celebration for Kemp families. PTA hosts this event in appreciation of PTA supporters. Food items can be made available for a nominal fee. (Event held on a Friday evening in late April.)
- Teacher Lunches - Plan and coordinate teacher lunches for a back to school lunch (same day as Meet the Teacher), conference week (fall), and end of the year lunch (day after the last day of school).
- Website - Maintan the PTA website with important information and upcoming events.
- Yearbook – Collect and compile photos and memories to commemorate the year’s activities, achievements, programs and celebrations. The members will work closely with the yearbook publishing company as well run the 5th Grade Yearbook club. This committee will coordinate sales and distribution of yearbook.
